While more than 65% of all prostate cancers are diagnosed in men over the age of 65, the 40 to 59 category should be of note to all. Do not wait until you're 50 to get your PSA tested. At a minimum, start at 40.

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November 2001, had surgery in December 2001 and got a clean PSA until November 2004. The cancer returned to the prostate bed and I started hormonal and radiation treatments. All my PSA tests since then have been "undetectable".
GET YOUR PSA TESTED ANNUALLY.
